Our Eco Workshop: Planting Vegetables is a joyful, hands-on learning experience where children discover how food grows and how caring for plants builds responsibility, patience, and environmental awareness.
It is one of the most loved Wild Roots activities because children get to create life with their own hands.
Planting vegetables teaches children:
where food really comes from
how plants grow
why sunlight, water, and soil are important
how to care for something every day
the value of patience and responsibility
Instead of learning from a textbook, children learn from real soil, real seeds, and real experience.
During this workshop, children will:
They learn different seed shapes and choose one to plant (lettuce, morning glory, basil, etc.)
We guide them step-by-step:
âĒ filling a pot
âĒ making a small hole
âĒ planting the seed
âĒ watering gently
Children observe sunlight, touch soil, and discuss:
âPlants need sunlight, water, soil, air.â
This becomes a small but powerful responsibility. Growing their own food!
