Our Eco Workshop: Earthworms is a hands-on, nature-based learning experience that helps children understand the important role earthworms play in keeping the soil healthy. Many parents are surprised to learn just how valuable these tiny creatures are â and children absolutely love discovering them up close!
Earthworms are one of natureâs best teachers.
They show children that even the smallest creatures have important jobs:
They help plants grow
They keep soil healthy
They recycle dead leaves and food scraps
They create tunnels that help air and water reach the roots
This workshop helps children see that every living thing matters â a core Wild Roots value.
During this workshop, children will:
Children observe earthworms gently, learning how they move, eat, and live.
We teach them how to hold worms with care and respect.
They discover how worms make soil rich and why farmers love them.
Children will help set up a small soil-and-leaf worm bin, learning how to create the perfect home for worms.
